Dive In: from the High Dive

We went to Flatland with my mother and sister Sunday. It was fun talking about the sermon during lunch. Although my mother has heard Pastor Bart preach, my sister hadn’t. To say the least, the sermon elicited some interesting discussion. Yes, that is Pastor Bart standing on the high dive that was on the platform

Dive In: Holding Your Breath

Well, I missed a couple Sundays for this series. Good stuff that I have missed. Fortunately, Pastor Jeff did a good job at summarizing what I missed. To sum up so far, this series is all about getting involved in some sort of ministry for Christ. It is a call to us to stop sitting

Dive In: Get on the Board

We are starting a new series at Flatland called Dive In. We will be reading through the book of Luke, following Jesus as he teaches his followers to be more than just a follower, to become a disciple, then on to carrying out His ministry to others. It is a call to all of us.

Mother’s Day

We visited my mother’s new/old church on mother’s day. She recently moved back to the town she grew up in and of course went to the same church she went to as a child. I have a great mother and am so thankful for her. It was great to be with her on Mother’s Day.

God’s Assistance: Gideon

Yesterday’s sermon has me still pondering, contemplating, and waiting for God to speak clearly to me. So I really don’t have much to say today. I will post my sermon notes as I took them on my iPhone (using the WordPress App which is becoming a well rounded blogging tool).

God’s Assistance: Lazurus

We are starting a new series called God’s Assistance at Flatland. Today’s sermon was on the resurrection of Lazurus as seen in John 11 [show]John 11 Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. [2]It was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his

Easter Is for Black Sheep

Black sheep are often disparaged, shunned, and avoided. Yet God did just the opposite. He loved us so much, and yes, we all are black sheep in God’s family, that He sent His Son to die in our place and He was raised from the dead as a guarantee of our eternal salvation. This is the message

Financial Peace: God Has a Plan

It sounds so easy. The sermon speaks volumes to me. I should be able to sleep well now… right? Well, no. And I feel lousy that I can’t, or maybe its sleepy. What am I talking about? Financial peace. God has a plan. When I do my best in managing the finances God has provided
